Tips On Bra Fittings & Measurements

Finding the right bra size is crucial when it comes to comfort and support. Our fitting guide will take you through the steps to measure yourself accurately and determine your correct size. With this information, you'll be able to shop our online collection with confidence, knowing you're getting the best fit for you.

How To Measure:

Step 1.

Using a tape measure, measure your underbust. Make sure the tape is parallel with the ground, and you’ve exhaled to get the smallest measurement possible. This will be your BAND SIZE.

Step 2.

Stand straight with your arms at your sides and measure at the fullest part of your bust (while wearing your current most comfortable non-padded bra). It's important to make sure the measuring tape is parallel with the ground and not binding to ensure an accurate measurement.

Step 3.

Subtract the band measurement obtained in Step 1 from the bust measurement obtained in Step 2. The difference between the two is your

cup size.

It's important to remember that there are no universal bra measurements. Each lingerie brand creates its own set of sewing patterns and size curves, resulting in different sizing options across various brands. To ensure the best possible fit, it is recommended that you refer to the specific size chart provided by the individual brands.

Sister sizes are sizes that have the same cup capacity but a different band size. For instance, if you wear a 38C, you could also wear a 36D or a 40B depending on your preferences for a tighter or looser fitting band.

THE SISTER SIZE RULE: As you go up in band size, you should go down in cup size. Similarly, as you go down in band size, you should go up in cup size.

What To Look For In A Good Fitting Bra:

1) THE BAND:

Adjust the bra hooks as needed and raise your arms—the band should stay in place. If it rides up, the band is too big. Switch to a smaller bra band to ensure that it provides the necessary support and fits securely. If you experience pinching or bulging, the band is too small. Instead, opt for a larger band for a comfortable and flattering fit. Lastly, remember that a bra should never leave any red marks on your skin, indicating that it's too tight.

1) THE CUP:

If your cups are too small, you may find yourself spilling out of your bra, while cups that are too big can be wrinkled or gaping. A properly fitting cup should be snug and flat to your body, with the breast tissue fully encased in the underwire. Did you know that the center of your bra should lay completely flat against your breastbone? That center piece between the cups, called the gore, should never hover above the chest. It should sit flat against your skin. The right fit can make a world of difference in how comfortable and confident you feel in your lingerie.

3) THE SHOULDER STRAPS

The straps should fit snugly without digging in. Make sure to adjust them to fit tightly enough for support, but not so tight that they leave indentations on your shoulders or make them tired.
